Job summary

NHS Highland is recruiting a Paediatric Healthcare Support Worker to support children and families across NHS Highland in home and community settings. The role involves accompanying children to school or hospital appointments, outings and respite care within a fast-paced 24/7 service.

Training lasts about eight weeks, after which competencies enable independent work with the child and family under supervision. Travel and accommodation are provided as needed.

Qualifications

• Experience of working with Children and/or community care is essential.
• Training takes approximately 8 weeks.
• Competencies achieved after training enable lone work with the child/family.

Responsibilities

• Support children and families in home and community settings.
• Accompany child to school/nursery, hospital appointments/admissions, outings and respite during shifts.
• Provide care to the child's healthcare needs under team guidance.
