Job summary

NHS Highland in Thurso is recruiting a Senior Health and Social Care Support Worker for the Caithness Care at Home Service. The role covers 22.75 hours weekly in a permanent position, delivering holistic, person-centred care in clients’ homes.

You will work with nurses and social care teams to ensure safe, dignified care, maintain records, and support independence. Full training is provided and a UK driving licence is required.

Qualifications

• Willingness to work towards SVQ Level 2 or 3 in Health and Social Care.
• Understanding of person-centred care and safeguarding.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle (travel expenses available).

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality care and personal-centred support to individuals in their own homes.
• Assist with personal care, medication support, continence care, nutrition & fluid, skincare, mobility support.
• Support service users to maintain independence, dignity, and wellbeing.
• Work closely with nurses, social workers, and allied health professionals.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date care records and documentation.
• Follow all NHS Highland policies and safeguarding procedures.
