Job summary

Birmingham Women’s and Children's NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a PACS & IMS Administrator to support the PACS and IMS systems. You will provide administrative support, training, and data handling for image transfers to national and international teams, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality across clinical systems.

The role emphasizes collaboration with the Clinical Systems Manager and MDT coordinators and involves ongoing development of software and processes to meet healthcare needs.

Qualifications

• Maintaining user access database and determining the access rights of users.
• First line response for PACS and IMS queries relating to the PACS & IMS Systems.
• Administration of the PACS and general system housekeeping to ensure accurate images and reports.
• Enter data onto the IMS system to facilitate storage of external images.
• Transmit and receive images/reports nationally in line with data sharing agreements.
• Maintain a record of users and training related to PACS and IMS.
• Monitor the dispatch of images from the PACS system.
• Train other Trust Admin Staff in the basic use of PACS and IMS.
• Work with MDT coordinators to ensure imaging is available from outside Trusts.
• Import and export images and reports to/from CDs in line with National data sharing policies.

Responsibilities

• Provide administrative support for PACS/IMS, assisting with image transfers and training.
• Ensure all clinical staff receive proper training on PACS/IMS and Scheduler.
• Collaborate with Clinical Systems Manager to identify software development opportunities.
• Maintain confidentiality and comply with governance reporting.
• Support MDT coordination for external imaging access.
• Oversee data entry and accuracy of patient demographics for imaging storage.
