Job summary

Arriva Rail London Ltd in Scarborough is seeking a hands-on Service Assistant for the Light Maintenance Depot. You will help complete overnight servicing, including train presentation, fueling, and depot top-ups to keep the customer fleet safe and ready for service each day.

Key duties include operating the fuel point and CET plant safely, performing night-time train presentation, refilling fluids and water, and completing paperwork while maintaining high housekeeping standards.

Responsibilities

• Operate the fuel point and CET plant safely and efficiently.
• Conduct nightly train presentation of the customer units.
• Fuelling traction units.
• Filling water tanks (toilet and wholesome water).
• Replenishing oils, coolants, sanding systems, and screenwash.
• Supporting other on-train system top-ups.
• Ensuring efficient flow of vehicles through the depot.
• Carrying out basic maintenance activities to documented instructions (VMI).
• Completing all required paperwork accurately.
• Supporting Technical teams.
• Maintaining housekeeping standards across the fuel point and depot.
• Always working safely and following company procedures and PPE requirements.
