Job summary

Arriva in Scarborough is seeking a hands-on Service Assistant to join the Light Maintenance team at Scarborough Depot. You will support overnight servicing, train presentation and fuel point operations to keep the customer fleet safe and ready for service each day.

The role requires good education, basic IT literacy, health and safety awareness, and a proactive, safety-first mindset with strong teamwork and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Operate the fuel point and CET plant safely.
• Conduct nightly train presentation of customer units.
• Service trains overnight: fuelling traction units, filling water tanks, replenishing oils and coolants.
• Support other depot tasks and ensure smooth vehicle flow.
• Complete paperwork accurately and maintain depot housekeeping.
