Job summary

Care in Mind is a Leeds-based provider of residential care for young people aged 16-30 with mental health needs. The Waking Night Healthcare Support Worker role runs 33 hours per week on a 8.30pm–7.30am rota, including weekends and some bank holidays.

A full UK manual driving licence is required to drive the service car. You will support the young people’s wellbeing, education and daily living, update care records, and assist with incident management and training.

Qualifications

• Flexibility to work night shifts including weekends and bank holidays.
• Full UK driving licence - manual only, not automatic.
• Ability to attend training on weekdays.
• Good written skills to write basic reports and record information accurately.
• IT skills to use an online care system and write emails.
• Good verbal communication and listening skills.
• Maintain professional working boundaries.
• Remain calm in emergencies and support others.

Responsibilities

• Update online care records and handovers to day staff.
• Medication administration and monitoring.
• Support residents with wellbeing, education and daily living tasks.
• Assist with incident management and de-escalation of challenging behaviours.
• Keep the home tidy and ensure a homely environment.
• Provide support during night shifts and weekends.
