Job summary

Care in Mind requires a Senior Healthcare Support Worker in Leeds to oversee shifts, support young people with mental health needs, and coordinate care plans alongside the management team.

The role involves meal support, monitoring for self-harm, and helping residents move toward independence. Training is provided; travel and sleep-ins may be required. A full UK manual driving licence is essential.

Qualifications

• Previous experience with young people who have mental health needs.
• Full UK Driving Licence - Manual.
• Willingness to cover varied shifts including sleep-ins, weekends, and bank holidays.
• Ability to attend training during employment (weekdays).
• Able to write basic reports and record information accurately.
• Basic IT skills (online care system, forms, emails).
• Good verbal communication and listening skills.
• Understanding of confidentiality and safeguarding.
• Maintain professional boundaries between staff and service users.
• Calmness in emergencies and ability to support others.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise shifts alongside Deputy and Registered Manager.
• Coordinate and lead shifts, participate in care planning with the team.
• Support new staff and contribute to recruitment through interviews and local job fairs.
• Work with young people with eating disorders and various mental health diagnoses.
• Assist with meal support, documentation, and post-meal monitoring.
• Support independence goals, including education routes and transport access.
