Job summary

Care in Mind is seeking a Waking Night Healthcare Support Worker for our residential home in Moortown, Leeds. 33 hours per week on night shifts (8:30pm–7:30am) including weekends and some bank holidays. A Full UK manual driving licence is required to drive the service car.

You will support young people aged 16–30 with mental health needs, assisting with wellbeing, education, life skills and daily living activities. Training is provided and prior care experience is welcome but not essential.

Qualifications

• Flexibility to work night shifts including weekends and bank holidays.
• Full UK Driving Licence – Manual only.
• Willingness to attend training on weekdays.
• Good written skills to write basic reports and record information.
• Basic IT skills and ability to use online care system and emails.
• Good verbal communication and listening skills.
• Maintain professional boundaries.
• Ability to remain calm in emergencies.

Responsibilities

• Update online care records and provide ongoing handovers to day staff.
• Complete medication administration and support wellbeing of young people.
• Support education and life skills and manage household tasks.
• Be involved in incident management and de-escalation of behaviours.
• Ensure the home remains a safe, tidy, homely environment.
• Provide support for transition towards independence and community integration.
• Receive training and supervision from the team.
