Balfour Beatty plc is seeking a Project Engineer - Overhead Lines to join our National Grid Growth portfolio. You will support delivery from planning through to handover, ensuring solutions are developed and delivered safely, on time and within budget.

You will coordinate with Project Manager, Director and team, mentor engineers, and contribute to safe, high-quality infrastructure projects across the UK.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Project Engineer on transmission/utility projects.
• Strong understanding of project delivery, planning and engineering processes.
• Experience implementing safe systems of work and managing project risks.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to influence, coordinate and lead multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Support delivery of OHL projects across the National Grid Growth programme.
• Formalise and specify engineered delivery solutions and briefing site teams.
• Lead and attend project reviews, progress meetings and stakeholder engagements.
• Coordinate project activities to meet programme, quality and commercial targets.
• Manage subcontractors, suppliers and project resources.
• Monitor project performance, risks and opportunities, escalating issues as needed.
• Ensure health, safety and environmental compliance with Zero Harm focus.
• Support commissioning, handover and project close-out activities.
• Mentor and develop engineers and junior team members.
