Job summary

Jacobs is seeking an Associate Director Overhead Lines (OHL) to lead high‑profile HV transmission projects in the UK. You will guide design teams, deliver 132kV‑400kV solutions, and ensure compliance with National Grid and DNO standards.

The role requires strong stakeholder engagement, mentoring of engineers, and a proven track record in overhead line design, with Chartered Engineer status or progression toward chartership.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in overhead lines design (132kV-400kV) in UK transmission/ distribution environments.
• Degree in Engineering or equivalent.
• Chartered Engineer (IET) or working towards chartership.

Responsibilities

• Develop detailed engineering drawings and design documentation using PLS-CADD, AutoCAD and Microstation.
• Oversee technical activities including line routing, sag-tension calculations, structure analysis and conductor selection.
• Prepare and review proposals detailing scope, timelines and budgets.
• Lead and mentor a team of design engineers; manage risks and ensure safe delivery.
