Job summary

Teaching Personnel Ltd. is seeking a Teaching Assistant with outreach experience to join a High School in the Preston PR3 area.

This role focuses on supporting pupils with SEMH needs, challenging behaviour and barriers to education, through 1:1 and small-group help. You will work with the school's SEND and pastoral teams to build supportive relationships, encourage engagement, and help learners access the curriculum both academically and pastorally.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 and small-group support.
• Build positive, consistent relationships with pupils.
• Support students who are disengaged or at risk of disengaging from education.
• Use outreach experience to encourage attendance, engagement and positive outcomes.
• Support pupils with SEMH and additional needs.
• Manage challenging behaviour calmly and effectively.
• Help pupils regulate their emotions and engage with learning.
• Work alongside teachers, SENCOs and pastoral staff.
• Support pupils both academically and pastorally.
