Job summary

Teaching Personnel Ltd. in Blackburn is seeking a graduated SEMH Teaching Assistant to support pupils with social, emotional and mental health needs. This full-time role runs term-time only, 8:30–15:30, Monday to Friday, with an immediate start.

Qualifications

• Graduate seeking experience in education, psychology, social work, or mental health.
• Previous experience in residential care, support work, youth work, or similar settings preferred.
• Willingness to participate in safeguarding and training requirements.

Responsibilities

• Supporting pupils with SEMH needs both in and out of the classroom
• Building trusting and positive relationships with young people
• Assisting with behaviour management and emotional regulation strategies
• Supporting learning activities on a one-to-one and small group basis
• Encouraging engagement, attendance, and personal development
• Working collaboratively with teachers and other professionals to provide consistent support
