Job summary

The Newcastle Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is seeking an Outpatient Reception Clerk for the Main Outpatient Department. You will provide a friendly reception service to patients, handle inquiries by phone or in person, and support efficient outpatient administration across multiple sites.

This role requires good communication, IT skills, and the ability to work across the organisation. NVQ level 2 or equivalent is required.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 in appropriate subject or equivalent qualification/experience.
• Good literacy and numeracy skills.
• IT skills in Windows-based applications.

Responsibilities

• Provide an efficient and friendly reception service to patients and visitors.
• Handle outpatient admin services in a timely manner.
• Direct hospital visitors and support patient care.
• Make and receive telephone calls to respond to public enquiries.
• Ensure that areas are kept clean and tidy at all times.
