Job summary

Landmarc Support Services is recruiting a Training Area Operative to support the UK Defence Training Estate. Based at Lydd Camp, you will maintain firing ranges and carry out planned and reactive maintenance to keep training assets safe and ready.

You will work outdoors with a positive attitude; full training is provided and there is clear progression. The role requires a valid UK manual driving licence and adherence to health and safety standards.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of Landscape Maintenance (outdoor)
• Basic IT skills with tablet use
• Ability to work effectively in a diverse, fast-paced team
• Good knowledge of Health & Safety protocols
• A valid Manual UK driving licence is essential

Responsibilities

• Maintenance and preparation of firing ranges for safe military training
• Carrying out preventative, planned and reactive maintenance tasks
• Construction, repair and deployment of targets
• Grounds maintenance including fencing, mowing and strimming
• Supporting forestry tasks such as removal of fallen trees (training provided)
• Operation and maintenance of plant and equipment (training provided)
• Driving and operating fleet vehicles
• Using warning systems including training control offices, flags and lights
• Ensuring facilities adhere to strict safety protocols and safe systems of work
• Completing documentation using IT systems and paper-based records
