Job summary

Landmarc Support Services is seeking a Training Area Operative to support the UK Defence Training Estate. The role focuses on maintaining safe outdoor training grounds at Lydd Camp, with full training provided and clear career progression.

Permanent contract, 37 hours per week, based in Lydd Camp, Kent. Benefits include pension, generous holiday, life assurance, and development support.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of landscape maintenance practices.
• Basic IT skills and tablet use.
• Ability to work effectively in a diverse, fast-paced team.
• Good knowledge of Health & Safety protocols.
• A valid Manual UK driving licence is essential.

Responsibilities

• Maintenance and preparation of firing ranges for safe military training.
• Carrying out preventative, planned and reactive maintenance tasks.
• Construction, repair and deployment of targets.
• Grounds maintenance including fencing, mowing and strimming.
• Support forestry tasks such as removal of fallen trees (training provided).
• Operation and maintenance of plant and equipment (training provided).
• Driving and operating fleet vehicles.
• Using warning systems including training control offices, flags and lights.
• Ensuring facilities adhere to strict safety protocols and safe systems of work.
• Completing documentation using IT systems and paper-based records.
