Job summary

Landmarc provides the essential support services that enable Armed Forces to train on the Defence Training Estate. A Training Area Operative will help keep facilities in top condition and assist with preventative and reactive maintenance, equipment testing and target deployment.

This role suits someone who enjoys outdoor work, with a can-do attitude; no previous experience required. Hours 06:00-23:00, Monday to Sunday; BPSS clearance is mandatory for all roles (some posts SC).

Qualifications

• Grounds and landscape maintenance knowledge.
• Basic IT skills to use a tablet.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced team environment.
• Knowledge of COSHH, manual handling, risk assessments and Health & Safety protocols.
• A valid UK manual driving licence is essential.
• Knowledge of working in a rural environment.
• Knowledge of range assignment instructions and range standing orders.
• Experience as a range/training area user.

Responsibilities

• To ensure that the Defence Training Estate is kept in top condition.
• Carry out preventative, planned and reactive maintenance tasks.
• Operation and maintenance of plant and equipment (training provided).
• Manufacturing and deploying targets.
• Equipment testing.
• Driving and operating fleet vehicles.
• Use of warning systems including training control offices, flags and lights.
• Ensure that the facilities adhere to strict safety protocols.
• Completion of work orders and pre planned maintenance.
• Complete all necessary documentation using both IT and paper-based systems.
