Job summary

Ceredigion County Council is seeking a motivated Parking Services Officer to support parking management, road safety, and local communities across the county. The role involves patrolling parking locations, assisting with car parks and equipment, and engaging with residents and visitors to uphold regulations.

You will work outdoors, communicate effectively, and use handheld devices while upholding consistent rules. A full UK driving licence is required, with weekend shifts on a rota basis.

Qualifications

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Experience dealing with the public in a customer-focused environment.
• Comfortable using technology and handheld devices.
• Hold a full UK manual driving licence.
• Able to work outdoors in all weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• patrol on-street and off-street parking locations across Ceredigion.
• help maintain safe, accessible and well-managed roads, streets and car parks.
• support the operation of Council car parks and parking equipment.
• identify and report issues affecting parking facilities and traffic management.
• provide advice, guidance and assistance to residents, businesses and visitors.
• monitor parking compliance and issue Penalty Charge Notices.
