Job summary

Spire Bushey Hospital is seeking an orthopaedic scrub perioperative practitioner for its theatre department. The post is full-time, Monday to Saturday with no nights, and the theatre covers orthopaedics alongside bariatric, ENT, urology and spinal work.

Registration with HCPC or NMC is required, with at least two years of major orthopaedic scrub experience. The role involves providing planned perioperative care, assessing patients, delivering care, and supporting quality improvements.

Qualifications

• HCPC registration as an operating department practitioner, or NMC registration as a nurse, without restrictions
• Minimum 2 years' scrub experience in major orthopaedics
• Nice to have Surgical First Assist (SFA) qualification

Responsibilities

• Provide planned perioperative care and help manage and organise care in the operating theatre
• Assess patients' health across a complex caseload
• Assist in delivering care to meet patients' health needs
• Give and receive complex or sensitive information
