Job summary

QS Recruitment in Leicester is seeking an experienced Order Picker for a busy warehouse and distribution operation. Immediate start available, temp contract, day shift 11:00–19:00, Monday to Friday, with occasional weekend overtime.

You will handle order picking, decanting, stock processing, scan with handheld RF and barcode readers, re-label, and prep items for dispatch, while maintaining accuracy and productivity targets. Physical fitness and reliability are essential.

Job Description

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Order Picker to join a busy warehouse and distribution operation in Leicester, with an immediate start available.
The successful candidate will be working within a fast-paced industrial environment, responsible for the accurate and efficient processing of goods through the warehouse operation. Duties will include order picking, decanting and processing stock, scanning goods using handheld RF scanners and barcode readers, re-labelling products, and preparing items for onward distribution.
You will be required to work with internal warehouse systems to ensure stock is correctly recorded, processed and prepared for dispatch. The role will involve handling goods through various stages of the warehouse process, maintaining accuracy and productivity targets, and ensuring all items meet the required standards before being sent back out.
You will also provide support to the packing and dispatch department, which will involve manual handling and some heavier lifting. A good level of physical fitness and the ability to work efficiently throughout the shift are therefore required.

Duration: Ongoing work with an immediate start available.This is a great opportunity for an experienced warehouse operative/order picker looking for stable, ongoing work within a busy logistics and distribution environment.

Hourly Rate: This role pays £12.71 per hour.

Experience & Qualifications

• Previous experience within an order picking, warehouse, logistics or distribution environment is essential.
• Experience using handheld RF scanners, barcode scanners/readers and warehouse management systems is essential.
• Previous experience of stock processing, decanting, re-labelling and packing would be advantageous.
• Good spoken and written English is essential.
• Must be comfortable working in a fast-paced warehouse environment while maintaining a high level of accuracy.
• Good attention to detail and the ability to follow processes and instructions.
• Physically fit and capable of undertaking manual handling and some heavy lifting.
• A hard-working, punctual and reliable approach is essential.
