Job summary

Newmedica in Whiteley is seeking a Bank Scrub Nurse/Practitioner to join our busy theatre team. You’ll set up the theatre, support the surgeon through daily lists, and help ensure patient safety, hygiene and smooth workflows in a high-volume cataract service.

Applicants must be a fully qualified Registered Nurse or Operating Department Practitioner with current NMC or HCPC registration. Ophthalmic theatre experience is preferred; training can be provided for vitrectomy and Phaco instrumentation.

Qualifications

• Fully qualified Registered Nurse or Operating Department Practitioner with current NMC/HCPC registration.
• Ophthalmic theatre experience preferred; training available for vitrectomy and phaco instrumentation.

Responsibilities

• Set up theatre for procedures and support the surgeon through the list.
• Maintain high standards of patient safety, hygiene and records.
• Assist with medicine management, audits and clinical waste procedures.
