Job summary

NMS Recruit Ltd t/a Russell Taylor Group is seeking an experienced Operations Trainer/Assessor to shape training, assessment and apprenticeships across UK sites, with a focus on Scotland.

The role involves delivering programmes, assuring staff competence on COMAH sites, IQA leadership, apprenticeship coordination, and developing competency management systems, with travel to sites and some overnight stays.

Qualifications

• Experience as an Operations Trainer/Assessor in Major Accident Hazard environments.
• Strong knowledge of competence management systems and competency-based assessment.
• Delivery of training and apprenticeships across operational sites.
• Full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Delivering training, assessment and development programmes across operational sites, mainly in Scotland.
• Assuring staff and contractor competence in safety critical roles on COMAH sites.
• Coaching Assessors and leading IQA processes.
• Coordinating and managing the apprenticeship programme.
• Supporting implementation and expansion of the Competence Management System.
• Identifying training needs after failed assessments and closing gaps with stakeholders.
• Delivering in-house training and measuring effectiveness.
• Helping Terminal Managers update manuals, procedures and training material.
• Ensuring training is in place before new equipment is commissioned on capital projects.
