Job summary

Russell Taylor Group is seeking an Operations Trainer / Assessor to deliver training, assessment and development programmes across UK operational sites, focusing on Scotland with travel to other sites. You will assure competence in safety-critical roles on COMAH sites and lead IQA processes while coordinating apprenticeship programs.

You will drive expansion of the Competence Management System, identify training gaps after failed assessments and collaborate with stakeholders to close them, and

Qualifications

• Experience as an Operations Trainer / Assessor within a Major Accident Hazard industry.
• Strong knowledge of competence management systems and competency-based assessment.
• Minimum Level 4 qualification in Training and Development.
• Minimum Level 4 qualification in an operational (process) or engineering discipline.
• A1 Assessor and V1 IQA qualifications (or equivalent).
• IOSH Working Safely (or equivalent).
• Train the Trainer qualification or relevant experience as a trainer.
• Knowledge of apprenticeship levy and external funding arrangements.
• Project management skills.
• Full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Delivering training, assessment and development programmes across operational sites, mainly in Scotland
• Assuring the competence of staff and contractors in safety critical and Asset Technical roles on COMAH regulated sites
• Coaching and standardising Assessors, and leading the Internal Quality Assurance (IQA) process
• Coordinating and managing the apprenticeship programme
• Supporting the implementation and expansion of the Competence Management System
• Identifying training needs following failed assessments and working with stakeholders to close the gaps
• Delivering in-house training and measuring how effective it is
• Helping Terminal Managers update operating manuals, procedures and training material
• Making sure training is in place before new equipment is commissioned on capital projects
