Job Description:

Responsibilities:

  • Manage a team of high performing Underwriting Assistants / Delegated authority administrators across all lines of business, providing exceptional service and solutions to Underwriters.
  • Support recruitment and onboarding of new employees.
  • Conduct annual performance reviews, including goal setting and identifying development opportunities.
  • Manage workload prioritization.
  • Lead in knowledge and proficiency of underwriting systems, processes, and procedures, including future improvements.
  • Review and enter new Underwriting submissions into appropriate systems and manage pre-modelling requests with the Aggregation Team.
  • Process policy slip data within agreed SLA.
  • Manage policy endorsement adjustments within agreed SLA.
  • Act on business exception reports promptly to ensure accurate risk details on Underwriting Systems.
  • Ensure adherence to business timetable and support internal and external reporting deadlines.
  • Maintain complete, accurate, and timely audit trail of risk information and workflows.
  • Manage Quality Control and Contract Certainty queries.
  • Support continuous improvement through root cause analysis and process improvements.
  • Participate in IT system enhancements and upgrades for underwriting initiatives.

Procedures:

  • Ensure compliance with all policies and procedures, including Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Follow company standards and ensure policies and procedures are well documented.
  • Undertake continuous professional development and comply with The Hartford procedures.
