Job summary

DHS in St. Sampsons, Guernsey is seeking an Operations Supervisor to lead the warehouse team and drive daily service, ensuring on-time, in-full deliveries and high safety standards.

You will manage Operations Assistants and Drivers, collaborate with colleagues to hit KPIs, and help identify opportunities for branch growth while upholding exceptional customer service.

Qualifications

• Previous industry or merchant experience and knowledge in plumbing/heating products.
• Previous experience as a supervisor, working well with others toward common goals.
• Ability to share and receive information clearly with peers, teams and stakeholders.
• Proactive in identifying and proposing solutions to operational and people issues.

Responsibilities

As an Operations Supervisor based in St. Sampsons, you’ll be responsible for:

• Driving service on a day to day basis within the warehouse environment in the branch.
• Achieving operational excellence, minimising costs, ensuring on time and in full delivery and providing outstanding customer service.
• Leading your team of Operations Assistants and Drivers, inspiring them to focus on providing exemplary customer service and drive activity within the team to deliver upon all branch KPIs and targets.
• Building excellent working relationships with the wider team within the branch to ensure that all colleagues are able to support in ensuring that business development opportunities are identified and converted.
• Instilling a culture of high standards, quality and safety.

This is a full-time, permanent role working 40 hours per week.

Essential Qualifications and Experience

• Previous industry or merchant experience and knowledge in plumbing/heating products.
• Previous experience as a supervisor working well with others towards a common goal through sharing clear targets and feedback.
• The ability to effectively share and receive information with peers, teams, and key stakeholders.
• The ability to proactively identify and propose solutions to operational and people issues before, or as, they arise.
• To be a team player who is happy to take on a diverse role to carry out all jobs in the branch to ensure it runs smoothly.
• Keenness to learn, with a positive and enthusiastic attitude and a strong work ethic.
