Wolseley UK Limited, operating Plumb Centre in Macclesfield, is seeking a Branch Supervisor to support the Branch Manager and oversee daily branch operations. You will supervise colleagues, assist customers at the trade counter with product knowledge, and help grow the customer base and profits.

The role includes warehouse duties and local deliveries, with 40 hours per week (Mon-Fri 07.30–17.00) and occasional overtime on Saturdays. A full driving licence is essential; forklift licence is a plus.

• Full Driving Licence is essential.
• Forklift licence desirable but will be trained up.
• Previous industry or merchant experience is preferable.
• Prior experience as a Supervisor within a face-to-face sales environment is essential.
• Willingness to step up to run the branch in the Branch Manager's absence.
• Comfortable making outbound sales calls to gain new business.
• Team player and willing to take on a diverse branch role to keep operations running smoothly.
• Keenness to learn with a positive attitude and strong work ethic.

• Build rapport with suppliers.
• Perform general warehouse duties including goods in/out, picking and packing, with heavy stock handling.
• Ensure compliance with policies and procedures.
• Drive a 3.5T van delivering to customers in the local area.

• Assisting the Branch Manager with the day to day running and operations within the branch and take charge when they are not available
• Supervise and support colleagues, providing guidance, training, and performance feedback to achieve targets and goals
• Serving customers on the trade counter, offering advice and product knowledge
• Develop the customer base, improve retention, satisfaction, product mix and range
• Identify and recommend ways to improve profits
• Building rapport with suppliers
• General warehouse duties including, goods in & out, picking and packing customer orders (this will involve manual handling heavy stock i.e., toilets, sinks, boilers and radiators)
• Ensure compliance with policies and procedures
• Driving 3.5T van making deliveries to customers in the local area

This is a full-time, permanent role working 40 hours per week Monday to Friday between 07.30am - 5.00pm. 1 in 4 Saturdays working 8am till 12pm, paid as overtime.

And here’s what we’d like you to have to be a successful Branch Supervisor:

• A Full Driving Licence is essential
• A Forklift licence is desirable however will trained up
• Previous industry or merchant experience is preferable
• Prior experience as a Supervisor within a Face to Face sales environment is essential
• Willingness to step up to run the branch in the Branch Managers absence
• Someone who is comfortable making outbound sales calls to customers to gain new business
• To be a team player who is happy to take on a diverse role to carry out all jobs in the branch to ensure it runs smoothly
• Keenness to learn, with a positive and enthusiastic attitude and a strong work ethic
