Job summary

phs Group plc in West Bromwich is seeking a Service Manager to lead our Operations Centre and support a large team of service drivers delivering essential waste disposal services across the region. You will work with the Centre Manager to maintain productivity and service standards while ensuring safety and compliance.

The ideal candidate has at least 2 years of management experience in operations/transport, a driving licence, and a proactive, customer-focused leadership style.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of management experience in operations/transport logistics.
• Transport management experience or CPC preferred.
• Proven ability to lead teams to meet customer expectations.
• Full driving licence (12 months+, max 6 points) as per company policy.
• IOSH training preferred.
• Strong communication skills and customer focus.

Responsibilities

• Support the Centre Manager to maintain depot productivity and service standards.
• Plan resources and develop service team members.
• Ensure processes comply with legislation and Health & Safety policies.
• Ensure vehicles and equipment are inspected and maintained for safety.
