Role Profile
The Operations Manager is responsible for the smooth and efficient running of the Production, Supply Chain and Maintenance teams. You will ensure that all Production KPI's are met, driving continuous improvement in Production, Supply Chain, Waste efficiency and Health & Safety.
Key responsibilities
- Production & Engineering: Drive through company EH&S strategy, ensuring full Production, Supply Chain, Engineering and Warehouse compliance.
- Overseeing all the operational activities of the plant.
- Continuously improving the quality of products to meet the set standards and customers' requirements.
- Managing the performance of the team while ensuring adherence to health and safety regulations.
- Controlling expenditure and managing capital requirements within a set budgets.
- Preparing production and performance reports for senior management.
- Building effective professional working relationships with all stakeholders, including suppliers and customers.
- Developing and implementing a comprehensive maintenance program for the plant.
- Maintaining inventory levels and controlling the flow of product.
- Work with the Maintenance Manager to identify preventative maintenance that will reduce lost time.
- Leading the site Asset maintenance and replacement strategy.
- Increase production, assets capacity and flexibility while minimizing unnecessary costs and maintaining company quality standards using LEAN tools and continuous improvement.
- Develop automation strategy, in terms of equipment and paperless operations, and introduce, train and be the champion of Lean, 6 Sigma and 5 S initiatives for the Production operation.
- Supply Chain: Ensuring the business operates a progressive supply chain with strong supplier relationships.
- Develop and implement metrics that will help us become a truly customer focused organisation.
- Work with the purchaser to deliver a value for money purchasing strategy that meets operational requirements.
- Develop automation strategy, in terms of equipment and paperless operations, and introduce, train and be the champion of Lean, 6 Sigma and 5 S initiatives for Supply Chain.
Skills & Experience
- A proven track record at Leading a positive behavioural shift in a manufacturing business.
- Passion about making a difference.
- Background in running Manufacturing operations – 5 years minimum is preferred.
- Highly capable of using and implementing Lean tools and techniques.
- Able to work and utilise process-based system.
