Job summary

Elevation Recruitment Group are partnering with a leading aerospace and defence manufacturer in Chesterfield to recruit an Operations Manager. The role offers £60k-£70k salary and leads a multi-functional team across production, quality, and HSE.

Based in Chesterfield, the role drives continuous improvement initiatives, lean and Six Sigma programs, and cost reduction while ensuring safe, compliant operations and timely delivery of production plans.

Qualifications

• Management experience in an engineering or manufacturing organisation.
• Proven track record delivering improved operations performance using cross-functional teams.
• Experience deploying continuous improvement plans such as lean and six sigma, ideally with Green Belt accreditation.
• Ideally degree qualified or relevant leadership development programmes completed.

Responsibilities

• Leading the HSE Management for your area.
• Supporting the Production Managers in achieving the production plan and securing resources to achieve this consistently.
• Working with all functions to reduce risks and drive product and service right first time.
• Weekly sustainment and 5S checks and improvement plans of your area.
• Owning strategic cost improvement initiatives.
• Leading and driving improvement programs to enable and sustain change.
• Leading a team 3 and 5 Production Managers and between 45 and 85 shop floor professionals.
