Job summary

Worcestershire-based manufacturing business is seeking an experienced Operations Manager to lead site operations in a fast-paced production environment. You will drive continuous improvement, coach high‑performing teams and ensure safety, quality and efficiency across production and warehouse functions.

You will work closely with senior leadership to optimise processes, manage costs, and deliver operational excellence while maintaining strong stakeholder relationships.

Qualifications

• Experience leading manufacturing operations, preferably in FMCG or similar fast-paced production environments.
• Proven ability to develop and coach operational teams to high performance.
• Strong understanding of Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement tools.
• Commercial acumen with ability to manage performance and costs.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day operations across production and warehouse functions.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives using Lean principles.
• Monitor KPIs and implement changes to productivity, quality and efficiency.
• Manage labour utilisation, waste reduction and operational costs.
• Champion health and safety and ensure regulatory compliance.

• Work with internal teams to meet customer service and operational targets.
• Identify opportunities to deliver long-term operational improvements.
• Provide leadership and coaching to build engaged, high-performing teams.

We're recruiting on behalf of a well-established and growing manufacturing business for an experienced Operations Manager to lead site operations. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated leader who enjoys developing people, improving processes and delivering operational excellence within a fast‑paced production environment.

You will be responsible for leading the day‑to‑day operation across production and warehouse functions, ensuring high standards of safety, quality, service and efficiency are achieved. Working closely with senior leadership and other departments, you will play a key role in driving performance, improving productivity and embedding a culture of continuous improvement.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Leading and developing production and operational teams to deliver outstanding performance.
• Managing day‑to‑day site operations across production and warehouse functions.
• Driving continuous improvement initiatives using Lean manufacturing principles.
• Monitoring operational KPIs and implementing improvements to productivity, quality and efficiency.
• Managing labour utilisation, waste reduction and operational costs.

About You

We’re looking for someone who:

• Has previous Operations Management experience within manufacturing, FMCG, food production or a similar fast‑paced environment.
• Has proven experience leading and developing operational teams.
• Has a strong understanding of Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies.
• Is commercially aware with experience managing operational performance and costs.
• Is confident analysing KPIs and using data to drive decision making.
• Has excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Is highly organised with strong problem‑solving abilities.
• Thrives in a fast‑paced environment and can prioritise effectively.
• Holds a Lean Six Sigma qualification (desirable but not essential).
