Job summary

WSP is seeking an Operations Manager to oversee day-to-day operations within the Buildings sector, partnering with the Buildings Group Director to steer projects and performance. You will cultivate a project-driven culture, embed robust delivery models, and balance client, staff, and commercial expectations.

You will lead teams, manage risk, ensure SHEQ compliance, and drive financial governance across major projects while collaborating with GCC and regional stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Demonstrable experience providing commercial leadership on client contracts and change management.
• Proven track record delivering projects within multidisciplinary design engineering, construction, or professional services consultancy.
• Ability to lead and manage teams, working effectively with colleagues and stakeholders across different business functions.
• Experience managing stakeholder relationships and coordinating the contributions of multidisciplinary teams.
• Must be able to obtain UK vetting level of Security Check (SC).

Responsibilities

• Support Building Services team by representing the business in client and project delivery contexts.
• Manage risk and opportunity through effective control and review measures.
• Provide operational oversight on project, commercial, governance, and performance issues.
• Champion SHEQ performance and ensure compliance with BMS and policy.
• Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and financial governance for major projects and frameworks.
• Lead monthly project performance reviews and drive margin improvement.
• Coordinate with GCC to promote best practice and ensure reporting fits business needs.
