Job summary

Edina is seeking an Operations Engineer in Milton Keynes to maintain and optimise gas/diesel engine installations. You will perform scheduled and reactive maintenance, diagnose faults, and drive efficiency improvements across customer sites.

The role requires mechanical/electrical qualifications, 3+ years’ experience, and a valid driving licence. Weekend work and on-call duties are included, with a comprehensive benefits package and opportunities for career development.

Qualifications

  • Minimum ONC/NVQ Level 2 in mechanical/electrical engineering or equivalent.
  • At least three years' industrial mechanical/electrical experience.
  • In-depth knowledge of gas/diesel engines.
  • Strong communication and IT skills; MS Office proficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Carry out scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on installations in Milton Keynes and surrounding area.
  • Diagnose and implement reactive maintenance on client installations.
  • Oversee and optimise operational processes to improve productivity and reduce waste of time and materials.
  • Participate in 24-hour callout rota and weekend work as required.

The Role

As an Operations Engineer, you will carry out scheduled and unscheduled maintenance work on installations across Milton Keynes and the surrounding area.

Ensuring that customer satisfaction is achieved, you will efficiently diagnose and implement all reactive maintenance work on our client's installations, as well as other users' installations.

You will also oversee and work to optimise the operational processes of users' systems to increase productivity and reduce their use of excess time and materials.

About You

To be considered as an Operations Engineer, you will need:

  • To hold a minimum of an ONC, NVQ Level 2 or City & Guilds Level 2 qualification in mechanical and/or electrical engineering, motor vehicle studies or equivalent
  • To be a competent time-served technician, preferably with a minimum of three years' industrial mechanical and/or electrical experience
  • To possess in-depth knowledge of gas/diesel engines
  • To demonstrate excellent communication skills
  • To have effective IT skills and competency in the use of Microsoft Office packages
  • To hold a full, valid driving licence

Hours of Work: Monday - Friday, 8.00am - 4.30pm.

This role will involve weekend work and possible out-of-hours work. You will be required to participate in an established 24-hour callout programme based on a rota system.
