Job summary

Edina, a leading international power generation specialist, seeks an Operations Engineer in Canterbury. You will perform scheduled and unplanned maintenance, diagnose issues, and optimize processes across installations to improve energy efficiency and reduce emissions.

The role requires mechanical qualifications and hands-on experience, with a commitment to safety, customer service, and ongoing professional development within a global team.

Qualifications

  • Minimum ONC/NVQ2 or City & Guilds Level 2 in mechanical discipline.
  • At least three years' industrial mechanical experience.
  • Strong knowledge of engine and/or generator fundamentals.
  • Proficient IT skills and MS Office.
  • Full, valid driving licence.

Responsibilities

  • Carry out scheduled and unscheduled maintenance across installations in Canterbury and surrounding area.
  • Diagnose and implement reactive maintenance on client installations.
  • Oversee and optimise operational processes to increase productivity and reduce time and material use.

The Role

As an Operations Engineer, you will carry out scheduled and unscheduled maintenance work on installations across Canterbury and the surrounding area.

Ensuring that customer satisfaction is achieved, you will efficiently diagnose and implement all reactive maintenance work on our client’s installations, as well as other users’ installations.

You will also oversee and work to optimise the operational processes of users’ systems to increase productivity and reduce their use of excess time and material.

About You
  • To hold a minimum of an ONC, NVQ Level 2 or City & Guilds Level 2 qualification in a mechanical-based discipline
  • To be a competent time-served technician, preferably with a minimum of three years’ industrial mechanical experience
  • To be a competent technician with considerable skills and in-depth knowledge of engine and/or generator fundamentals
  • To have effective IT skills and competency in the use of Microsoft Office packages
  • To hold a full, valid driving licence

Hours of Work: Monday - Friday, 8.00am - 4.30pm.

This role will involve weekend work and possible out-of-hours work. You will be required to participate in an established 24-hour callout programme based on a rota system.
