Job summary

Edina is seeking an Operations Engineer to join its Bolton team on a full-time, permanent basis. You will carry out maintenance on gas/diesel installations across Bolton and the surrounding area, diagnosing issues and ensuring high customer satisfaction.

You will optimise operational processes, contribute to energy efficiency goals, and benefit from the company’s comprehensive rewards package and overtime opportunities.

Qualifications

  • Minimum ONC/NVQ Level 2 in mechanical/electrical engineering or equivalent.
  • Three years' industrial mechanical and/or electrical experience preferred.
  • In-depth knowledge of gas/diesel engines.
  • Excellent communication skills and IT proficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on installations in Bolton and surrounding area.
  • Diagnose and execute reactive maintenance to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Analyze and optimise operational processes to improve productivity and reduce waste and downtime.

The Role

As an Operations Engineer, you will carry out scheduled and unscheduled maintenance work on installations across Bolton and the surrounding area.

Ensuring that customer satisfaction is achieved, you will efficiently diagnose and implement all reactive maintenance work on our client’s installations, as well as other users’ installations.

You will also oversee and work to optimise the operational processes of users’ systems to increase productivity and reduce their use of excess time and materials.

About You
  • To hold a minimum of an ONC, NVQ Level 2 or City & Guilds Level 2 qualification in mechanical and/or electrical engineering, motor vehicle studies or equivalent
  • To be a competent time-served technician, preferably with a minimum of three years’ industrial mechanical and/or electrical experience
  • To possess in‑depth knowledge of gas/diesel engines
  • To demonstrate excellent communication skills
  • To have effective IT skills and competency in the use of Microsoft Office packages
  • To hold a full, valid driving licence

Hours of Work: Monday - Friday, 8.00am - 4.30pm.

This role will involve weekend work and possible out-of-hours work. You will be required to participate in an established 24‑hour callout programme based on a rota system.
