Job summary

Burdens, part of the Wolseley Group, invites applications for an Operations Assistant in Hemel Hempstead. The role is full-time, 40 hours weekly, Monday to Friday, focusing on delivering materials, accurate goods-in, and efficient order fulfilment.

You will support warehouse activities, maintain safety and housekeeping standards, and step in for the supervisor when needed. A background in warehousing with customer-facing duties is preferred.

Qualifications

• Previous industry experience would be ideal.
• Previous warehouse or Merchanting background.
• A full UK driving licence.
• Confidence interacting with customers and suppliers to build effective relationships.

Responsibilities

• Providing a high level of customer service by supplying the correct materials.
• Checking Goods-in are correctly delivered against delivery notes and goods are booked in on the Wolseley System, then put away accurately and safely.
• Accurately picking and labelling goods booked out to customers and other branches using Wolseley System, ensuring all relevant paperwork is completed.
• Maintaining standards of housekeeping and adhere to health and safety guidelines, including manual handling techniques, use of loading equipment and PPE.
• Deputising for the Operations Supervisor or Manager as required.
