Job summary

HCLTech in Glasgow requires a Site Reliability Engineer specializing in Private Cloud on OpenShift. You will ensure reliability, security, and scalable operations for a large Kubernetes platform across on‑prem environments.

You’ll partner with platform engineering, infrastructure, and security teams to automate, improve observability, and drive upgrades while supporting a follow-the-sun support model.

Qualifications

• Proven experience operating OpenShift or enterprise Kubernetes in production.
• Hands-on Linux administration and troubleshooting expertise.
• Knowledge of GitOps and flux-based deployment patterns.
• Experience with observability platforms and dashboarding.
• Exposure to CVE management and security remediation.

Responsibilities

• Own reliability and performance of Kubernetes/OpenShift platform.
• Lead incident response, on-call rotations, and post-incident reviews.
• Collaborate with teams to deploy upgrades and enhancements.
• Drive automation to reduce toil and boost scalability.
• Develop tooling, runbooks, dashboards, and docs.
• Oversee platform lifecycle including upgrades and capacity planning.
• Lead vulnerability management across components and OS.
• Improve observability and reliability practices across regions.
• Support strategic platform initiatives and customer experience.
