Job summary

Cognizant is seeking a Site Reliability Engineer in Glasgow to ensure highly available and secure application platforms on AWS, Kubernetes and Springboot microservices. The role emphasises observability with Splunk and Dynatrace, incident prevention, and continuous improvement within a fully onsite, day-shift schedule in Glasgow.

The ideal candidate will have strong SRE experience, hands-on AWS/Kubernetes expertise, and a proven track record of building reliable, scalable cloud-native systems.

Qualifications

• 8–12 years of SRE experience focused on reliability and performance.
• Experience with AWS, Kubernetes, and Springboot microservices.
• Strong observability using Splunk and Dynatrace.

Responsibilities

• Design highly available, resilient AWS infrastructure for hybrid environments.
• Tune Kubernetes resources and deployment pipelines for performance.
• Develop Springboot microservices with reliability and modularity.
• Create Splunk monitoring, alerts and capacity trend analysis.
• Apply SRE principles: error budgets, SLIs/ SLOs.
• Lead incident RCA and preventive actions.
• Document runbooks and reliability patterns.
