Job summary

Babcock is seeking an IT Customer Support Specialist to support the UK Military Flying Training System at RAF Shawbury. The role focuses on delivering high-quality IT support to trainees, instructors, and staff, acting as a reliable interface between IT providers and end users.

Based onsite, you will manage, deploy, and troubleshoot IT equipment, while delivering inductions and ensuring smooth classroom and training operations.

Qualifications

• Experience providing second-line IT support.
• Experience supporting users within a Microsoft Windows environment.
• Strong customer service, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Ability to build effective working relationships with colleagues and customers.
• Commercial awareness and an understanding of business priorities. Experience within a UK defence environment would be advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Providing second-line IT support and acting as an escalation point for local operational IT issues.
• Supporting military trainees, instructors, and customer stakeholders to deliver an excellent user experience.
• Managing, maintaining, and troubleshooting IT hardware, telecommunications, and audio-visual equipment across the site.
• Delivering IT inductions and preparing equipment for new users joining the training environment.
• Configuring and deploying IT equipment to support classrooms, training facilities, and operational requirements.
