Job summary

Babcock is seeking an IT Customer Support Specialist to join the RAF Shawbury site near Shrewsbury, Shropshire. You will provide second-line IT support, handle escalations, and ensure smooth IT operations for military training environments.

You will support trainees, instructors, and staff, manage IT hardware, AV equipment, and deployments for classrooms and training facilities, and deliver inductions for new users. A UK driving licence is required.

Qualifications

• Experience providing second-line IT support.
• Experience supporting users within a Microsoft Windows environment.
• Strong customer service, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Ability to build effective working relationships with colleagues and customers.
• Commercial awareness and understanding of business priorities; Defence environment beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Provide second-line IT support and act as escalation point.
• Support military trainees, instructors, and stakeholders to deliver an excellent user experience.
• Manage, maintain, and troubleshoot IT hardware, telecommunications, and audio-visual equipment across the site.
• Deliver IT inductions and prepare equipment for new users.
• Configure and deploy IT equipment to support classrooms, training facilities, and operational requirements.
