Job summary

Babcock is recruiting an IT Customer Support Specialist to support RAF Shawbury, Shropshire, delivering resilient IT services for military training environments. You will act as a key interface between Ascent, Babcock Aerospace, and internal IT providers, ensuring smooth class delivery and operational readiness.

The role is on-site, with standard hours Monday–Friday and occasional travel to RAF Valley/Cranwell, requiring SC security clearance and a full UK driving licence.

Qualifications

• Experience providing second-line IT support.
• Experience supporting users within a Windows environment.
• Strong customer service, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Ability to build effective working relationships with colleagues and customers.
• Commercial awareness and an understanding of business priorities, defence experience advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Providing second-line IT support and acting as an escalation point for local operational IT issues.
• Supporting military trainees, instructors, and customer stakeholders to deliver an excellent user experience.
• Managing, maintaining, and troubleshooting IT hardware, telecommunications, and audio-visual equipment across the site.
• Delivering IT inductions and preparing equipment for new users joining the training environment.
