Job summary

Vert as Group is seeking an IT Field Support Engineer to join our Ipswich team. You will provide hands-on 1st and 2nd line IT support at offices and remote sites, resolving hardware, software and connectivity issues while updating the ITSM system.

Key requirements include Windows, Microsoft 365, Intune and Autopilot familiarity, plus a valid UK driving licence to travel between sites as needed. This is a permanent, on-site role with future IT projects and site deployments.

Qualifications

• Experience in a desktop/field support, 2nd line IT role.
• Strong knowledge of Windows, Microsoft 365, hardware and peripherals.
• Working knowledge of networking fundamentals, Microsoft Entra ID and MFA.
• Experience with endpoint management tools such as Microsoft Intune or Autopilot desirable.
• Experience with ITSM/ticketing systems and third-party IT providers desirable.

Responsibilities

• Provide hands-on 1st and 2nd line IT support at offices, sites and remotely.
• Own incidents and service requests through to resolution, updating the ITSM platform.
• Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, peripheral, printing, meeting-room and connectivity issues.
• Escalate complex issues to appropriate technical teams or third-party providers.
• Act as the local IT representative for assigned sites, building relationships with managers and users.
• Build, configure, deploy, replace and recover laptops, desktops, mobile devices, printers and peripherals.
• Support Microsoft Intune enrollment and configuration, Windows Autopilot, and other modern workplace technologies.
• Assist with joiner, mover and leaver activities, including equipment prep and return.
• Maintain asset records and stock levels across the device lifecycle.
• Perform device health checks and proactive replacement planning.
