Job summary

Suffolk County Council's Suffolk Fire and Rescue Service is seeking a Fire ICT Engineer to join a dynamic team dedicated to enabling frontline operations. You will support, maintain and develop a range of specialist and business-critical systems in a public service setting.

You’ll help manage radio communications, telephony, data centre technologies and IT infrastructure, install and troubleshoot ICT components, and participate in an on-call rota for critical systems after training.

Qualifications

• Experience with ICT systems and supporting critical IT services.
• Ability to install, configure and troubleshoot ICT components.
• Good communication and customer service for a public-sector environment.

Responsibilities

• Support, maintain and develop specialist and business-critical systems.
• Maintain radio communications, telephony, and emergency alerting platforms.
• Provide technical support for IT infrastructure, networks and data centre technologies.
• Install, configure, troubleshoot and monitor ICT systems; participate in on-call rota for critical systems after training.
• Implement security measures to protect data and ensure policy compliance.
• Manage IT service requests, resolve issues and escalate as needed.
