Job summary

JLL is seeking a hands-on Shift Manager to lead the on-site engineering team and ensure continuous 24/7 building operations. The role requires physical presence during shifts and direct supervision of engineers performing maintenance and reactive tasks.

You will manage real-time response, coordinate handovers, and maintain system availability while coordinating with security and client representatives during incidents. A strong background in facility management and BMS is essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years' experience in shift operations or supervisory roles within facilities management or industrial environments.
• Hands-on technical competence across electrical, mechanical, HVAC, and plumbing systems.
• Experience working with Building Management Systems (BMS) for monitoring and control.
• Strong ability to troubleshoot complex system failures under time pressure.

Responsibilities

• Provide on-shift leadership and direct supervision of shift engineers, ensuring immediate task prioritization and technical guidance during operational periods.
• Coordinate rapid response to equipment breakdowns, alarms, and emergency situations requiring immediate engineering intervention.
• Lead structured shift handovers and maintain comprehensive shift logs for incidents and actions.
• Direct shift engineers on urgent reactive tasks, prioritizing based on operational impact and client requirements.
• Maintain operational continuity during out-of-hours periods and coordinate with security and client representatives.
• Monitor live systems (BMS, alarm panels) and manage multiple incidents to minimize service disruption.
• Ensure safety procedures, RAMS, and permit-to-work processes are followed during shift activities.
• Oversee planned maintenance delivery (PPMs) and ensure proper documentation in CMMS.
