Job summary

ISP School Battle is seeking an One-to-One Teaching Assistant to support a pupil with diverse needs in a fixed-term, term-time role at Battle, East Sussex. The role includes accompanying a pupil to Plumpton College one day per week and working 22.5 hours across three days.

The successful candidate will have GCSEs in English and Maths, basic IT skills, and prior experience with SEMH pupils. DBS checks will be completed and funded by ISP School Battle.

Qualifications

• Have a strong basic education, ideally to A-level, with a minimum of GCSE Grade C or equivalent in English Language and Mathematics, and sound IT skills.
• Previous experience in a similar role, e.g., as a Teaching Assistant.
• Experience with SEMH pupils within an educational setting; able to lead on a specialism (e.g., reading, mathematics or forest school).
• Experience of behaviour management and techniques; committed to professional development.
• DBS check will be completed with cost met by ISP School Battle.

Responsibilities

• Mentor and support one pupil or a small group of up to five pupils.
• Support the classroom teacher during lessons.
• Report on pupils' progress and liaise with staff to meet needs.
• Supervise pupils during non-class time, including activities and trips.
• Assist with lesson planning and classroom preparation; set work where appropriate and mark.
