Job summary

Polaris Education - ISP School in Whitstable is seeking a Part Time, Term Time Only Teaching Assistant to provide one-to-one support under the Progress Engagement Guide (PEG). The role focuses on children with complex needs within a small, nurturing environment and requires commitment to consistent attendance and safety.

You will work closely with teachers to deliver inclusive lessons, manage behaviours, and contribute to individual learning plans.

Qualifications

• A relevant qualification in education or a related field, e.g., Level 3 Teaching Assistant Diploma.
• Previous experience working with children is desirable.
• Strong understanding of early years frameworks and curriculum development.

Responsibilities

• Mentor and support one pupil or a small group.
• Support delivery of engaging lessons aligned with early years frameworks.
• Build positive relationships with children and encourage inclusion.
• Report on progress and liaise with staff to meet needs.
• Supervise during non-classroom time and school trips.
• Assist with lesson planning and classroom preparation.
• Set work and mark as appropriate.
• Implement trauma-informed strategies to support mental health.
