Job summary
DXC Technology is seeking a Site-based Desktop Support Engineer for a secure location in Warton, with occasional support at Samlesbury and Preston. The role requires SC Security Clearance and the right to work in the United Kingdom.
You will provide on-site field support, installation, servicing and repair of systems, and you will liaise with customers and client engineers to gather requirements and resolve issues. A solid grounding in engineering principles is essential.
Qualifications
- SC Security Clearance required.
- Experience with company hardware, software and equipment.
- Experience supporting customer technology and requirements.
- Experience with process and/or system design concepts.
- Experience with programming languages, operating systems and software.
- Experience applying engineering principles and practices.
Responsibilities
- Provide on-site field support including installation and servicing.
- Answer questions and resolve issues; escalate when needed.
- Liaise with customers on admin and technical matters.
- Analyse system problems and prepare reports.
- Assist in applying engineering principles to design and processes.
- Collaborate with client engineers to gather requirements for solutions.
- Assist in designing basic technical programs.
