Job summary

DXC Technology is seeking a Site-based Desktop Support Engineer in Guildford. The role involves on-site installation, servicing, and repair of equipment on a secure site, with potential travel to nearby Frimley.

Candidates must meet UK government security requirements and have the right to work in the UK. You will work as part of the On Site Support team, gaining access to training and accreditations while supporting diverse systems and products.

Qualifications

• SC Security Clearance required.
• Experience with company hardware, software and equipment.
• Experience supporting customer technology.
• Experience with process and/or system design concepts.
• Experience with programming languages, operating systems and software.
• Knowledge of engineering principles and practices.

Responsibilities

• Provide on-site field support to customers including installation, servicing and repairing of systems and equipment.
• Answer customer questions and resolve issues; refer complex items for follow-up and testing.
• Liaise with customers on administrative and technical matters for projects.
• Analyse and report on system problem trends and issues.
• Assist in applying engineering principles to system design and processes.
• Coordinate with client engineers to gather information for solution design.
• Assist in designing basic technical programs for projects or enhancements.
