Job summary

Pertemps Thames Water is seeking a Mechanical & Electrical Technician to perform scheduled maintenance and rapid fault diagnosis on pumps, motors, starters, controls, VSDs, PLCs, and related equipment at Riverside STW. You will diagnose faults, carry out repairs, and provide technical guidance while ensuring safety and adherence to procedures.

The role requires an electrical apprenticeship or equivalent, with upskilling in mechanical NVQ, and a valid driving licence.

Qualifications

• Time-served apprentice with significant electrical systems experience.
• Upskilled with a mechanical qualification to inspect, maintain, fault-diagnose, test, install, modify or repair plant safely.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned maintenance on mechanical and electrical equipment to minimise breakdowns.
• Investigate plant failures and carry out repairs quickly to prevent process interruptions.
• Provide technical advice and training to technical trainees when required.
• Standby rota participation following training.
