Job summary

Pertemps Thames Water in Witney is seeking a Mechanical & Electrical Maintenance Technician to maintain electrical and mechanical plant across Cotswolds wastewater sites. The role involves proactive and reactive maintenance of pumps, motors, and control systems, with emphasis on fault-finding and timely problem resolution.

The successful candidate will have a time-served apprenticeship (NVQ3+) in engineering, electrical qualifications, and BS7671/18th Edition knowledge, plus a full UK driving

Qualifications

• Time-served apprenticeship in an engineering sector, NVQ level 3 or greater in mechanical and / or electrical engineering.
• Ideally upskilled with a mechanical qualification to inspect, maintain, fault diagnose, test, install, modify or repair mechanical and electrical plant equipment safely and efficiently.
• Qualifications in BS7671 or 18th Edition electrical wiring regulations.
• Experience with 3-phase systems.
• Knowledge and awareness of health and safety policies and processes.
• Full UK driving licence is essential.

Responsibilities

• Proactively and reactively maintain the mechanical and electrical assets across the Cotswolds sites.
• Investigate plant failures and carry out repairs quickly to avoid process interruptions.
• Diagnose complex faults and carry out repairs during incidents.
• Service and replace assets across pumps and associated control gear, 3-phase motors, starters and controls, and electronic control systems.
• Support local maintenance teams and provide technical advice and training as required.
• Undertake fault diagnostics and resolve issues in a timely manner.
• Interpret and update technical drawings.
• Provide daily feedback on work carried out.
• Monitor treatment processes using SCADA and act on alarms.
