Job summary

Grand Central is hiring a Customer Service Assistant in Bradford to support passengers and manage on-board catering, contributing to a safe and pleasant journey. The role spans early mornings to late evenings, across seven days, in a busy rail environment.

Successful candidates will bring strong customer service skills, initiative, and the ability to adapt to changing situations. Training is provided, with a 12-month FTC and opportunities for progression for the right person.

Qualifications

• Essential: Strong customer service skills.
• Ability to work safely under pressure.
• Be able to use your initiative.
• Great communication skills.
• Be able to work as part of a team but also comfortable working alone.
• Confident and able to make decisions.
• Be able to pass a rail safety medical including drug and alcohol testing.
• Be able to work a variety of shifts across a 7 day rota.
• Desirable: Basic food hygiene certification.

Responsibilities

• Deliver an excellent customer experience in all areas on-train for both our First and Standard Class passengers.
• Provision and management of on-board catering retail.
• Undertake all associated stock, storage and waste management requirements.
• Ensure personal safety and that of others at all times.
