Job summary

AtkinsRéalis UK Limited is seeking a Software Engineer to join our team to develop and maintain software supporting major offshore wind project delivery. You will bridge software development and engineering, delivering reliable solutions and promoting best practices across the team.

You will design, develop, test and maintain applications for offshore wind engineering processes, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and producing well-documented code that adheres to standards.

Qualifications

• A degree or equivalent professional experience in software engineering and structural engineering.
• Professional experience developing applications using Python.
• A strong understanding of object-oriented design and general software design principles.
• Experience writing clean, modular, maintainable and testable code.
• Experience creating and maintaining automated unit tests.
• Experience using Git-based version control.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, deliver and maintain software applications that automate offshore wind engineering processes.
• Develop solutions for areas such as geometry generation, analysis automation, data processing and results visualisation.
• Collaborate with engineers and other stakeholders across multidisciplinary teams to understand business needs and define software requirements.
• Translate engineering requirements and calculations into robust, maintainable software.
• Produce high-quality, well-structured and well-documented code that follows coding standards and software engineering best practices.
• Reduce software risk through automated testing, code reviews and controlled release processes.
